Relations between Greece & Turkey are strained over several issues such as Aegean borders, Cyprus, Turkish minorities of Thrace and of most recently the explosive news of Greece harboring of international terrorist fugitive, Abdullah Ocalan. A Turkish Intelligence operation has apprehended Ocalan from his Greek hideout in Nairobi, Kenya. Greece has been denying these allegations but caused the firing of 3 ministers and intelligence chief. It is becoming more obvious what Greece's involvement with the terrorist PKK organization has been as captured Ocalan outlines in his deposition. In addition to Abdullah Ocalan's statements that his group received weapons he has recently noted that Greek Orthodox Churches supplied additional funds allowing the PKK to have a monthly budget of close to US$3million in its efforts to destabilize Turkey. Greece is supposedly a NATO ally but this and her previous actions where a Greek NATO official was caught spying for the Serbs casts doubt to her sincerity and dependability not just by Turkey but others as well.
